ATTENTION OBALL FAMILIES: The OBALL Board members were recently called out to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. We are setting the date to do this for Sunday, August 24th at 3:00pm at Brookside Field. OBALL is starting off the donation to ALS with $100.00. One of the Board Members is donating an extra $5.00 for each board member that comes out Sunday to participate.
We are challenging OBALL PLAYERS, COACHES, and FAMILIES to come and join us! Please donate a MINIMUM of $1.00 each and bring your own bucket!
OBALL wants to make this as BIG as possible! As some of you may already know, ALS is also called Lou Gehrig’s disease. Lou Gehrig was a very famous baseball player (see the links below). So, what better way to support baseball history than to support the organization that is working to find a cure for the disease that took a great baseball player from the world too early? !
Please accept our invitation to join the board members on Sunday, August 24th at 3:00pm at Brookside field to support ALS. Bring at least a $1.00 donation and your own bucket!
All of the CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES were finally played yesterday evening! It was an exciting evening of baseball and sportsmanship and enjoying the company of the friends we’ve made over the summer season of OBALL!
CONGRATULATIONS TO EACH DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM !

2015 SEASON information will be posted in the coming months.
Dear Family and Friends,
My name is Greg Margevicius.
My grandmother is in Mt. Alverna nursing home in Parma. I am a Boy Scout pursuing my Eagle Scout rank. For my Eagle Scout Project I am putting in 3 benches at Mt. Alverna, around the pond area. In order for me to put these benches in I have to put in 3 concrete pads. Mt. Alverna staff are very excited about how this addition will change the entire dynamic around this part of their complex. Currently there is no opportunity for residents or guests to sit around and enjoy the view of the beautiful pond.
The benches Mt. Alverna wants are quite expensive, being heavy duty for the outdoors, about $900 each. My entire project budget is $4000.
I was wondering if you or someone you know would be able to contribute to this project. Contributions are tax-deductible, and donors will be recognized in my Eagle Scout Program. Checks should be made payable to “Troop 221” and please put “Margevicius Eagle Project” on the memo line. Please mail all checks to 6035 Brookside Drive, Cleveland, Ohio 44144.
Please find attached a PDF providing more details about the project.
Thank you for your consideration,
Eagle Scout Candidate
