UMPIRES FOR TBALL AND PEE WEE

NEW INFORMATION:  UPDATED UMPIRE SCHEDULES ARE ATTACHED BELOW.  ALL COACHES SHOULD CHECK TO SEE IF THEY CAN HELP UMPIRE AT LEAST 3 GAMES DURING THE SEASON.  PLEASE CHECK YOUR OWN TEAM’S SCHEDULE AGAINST THIS SCHEDULE AND MAKE SURE TO SIGN UP!

Pee Wee umpire sign ups as of 6 25 2014

TBall umpire sign ups as of 6 25 2014

COACHES AND ASSISTANT COACHES – - PARTICULARLY LITTLE F AND BIG F – - If you have not signed up to umpire your required 3 games in TBall and Pee Wee, please do so immediately!!!  Go to the Schedules page and pull up your schedule and the tball or pee wee schedule and compare/choose some games to umpire!  This has to be done!

For OBALL to continue to thrive, it is very important that we have our coaches come back to the Tball and Pee Wee divisions and umpire the games.  It is important because #1. you know the rules better than pulling parents from the side lines!  #2.  OBALL cannot afford to pay umpires for pee wee and tball games!

COACHES AND ASSISTANT COACHES – If you want to continue to protect 6 kids, then you MUST, MUST, MUST do your required games.

We are to a point where we may have to begin assigning teams who aren’t playing to Pee Wee and Tball games…. Then it will be your team’s responsibility to fill the umpire slot for that game.

FYI, Big F Coaches, if you have some really responsible Big F players, they are more than welcome to help you or one of your assistants umpire.  They can read the rules and get up to date on the newer rules implemented.  The players can also get VOLUNTEER HOURS for high school for umpiring.

Sign up by sending an email to OBALLHELP@gmail.com or by emailing or texting Nick Vah (Tball) or Gary Smith (Pee Wee) ASAP!!

Greg’s Eagle Scout project

Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Greg Margevicius.

My grandmother is in Mt. Alverna nursing home in Parma.  I am a Boy Scout pursuing my Eagle Scout rank.  For my Eagle Scout Project I am putting in 3 benches at Mt. Alverna, around the pond area.  In order for me to put these benches in I have to put in 3 concrete pads.  Mt. Alverna staff are very excited about how this addition will change the entire dynamic around this part of their complex.  Currently there is no opportunity for residents or guests to sit around and enjoy the view of the beautiful pond.

The benches Mt. Alverna wants are quite expensive, being heavy duty for the outdoors, about $900 each.  My entire project budget is $4000.

I was wondering if you or someone you know would be able to contribute to this project.  Contributions are tax-deductible, and donors will be recognized in my Eagle Scout Program. Checks should be made payable to “Troop 221” and please put “Margevicius Eagle Project” on the memo line.  Please mail all checks to 6035 Brookside Drive,  Cleveland,  Ohio  44144.

Please find attached a PDF providing more details about the project.

 Thank you for your consideration,

 Greg Margevicius
